Making a new year’s resolutions is one thing and keeping it while you achieve the end result is another. Most of you must be thinking of things that you want to do in the next year like quitting smoke, losing weight or reading a particular novel etc.
As for me, I want to be more active on my blog and write more frequently than before among so many other to-do things.
I have made a resolution but how can I keep it?
Simple mom has written an excellent post to address this issue. Check it out here, “The Value of Accountability for Achieving Your Goals”
Okay now that you have realized the importance of accountability to achieve your goals, who would you choose to keep an eye on your progress? I have a few suggestions for you. Use theses websites to help you keep track of your new year’s resolutions in 2011.
Coolendar
A very simple and easy to use website. You can sign in with your google account. This website helps you create lists of your important dates and events instead of marking them up on matrix-like calendar. You’ll get reminders through email and google talk.
Start a Resolution
This is also a very simple website. Start a resolution by typing your resolution in a circle. You will be assigned a coach. A coach is a person who has joined before you. To keep your resolution on right track messages and emails are used. If a person joins after you, you’ll get assigned as a coach for them. The more you visit the website to keep a record of your resolution, the more you’ll score.
Pledgehammer
Pledgehammer.com is a site that helps you keep your promises. You make a pledge public on their website so that others can see what your resolution is.
To make you keep your resolution, you are asked to decide on a deadline with a financial incentive. It means if you are unable to reach your goal within the specified time, you’ll donate money to the charities associated with Pledgehammer.com.
I like these websites for their simplicity but that is not all. There are many other websites with great functions also available on the internet.
Have you made your new year’s resolutions? How are you planning to keep them?

First of all I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question that I’d like to ask if you do not mind. I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a tough time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out. I truly do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks!

@Elinor thank you for stopping by. Writing really needs focus, motivation, inspiration and of course time. To make use most of your time, plan ahead. Whatever your topic of interest is, just make a list of possible topics you want to write on. Try to minimize the distractions online and offline. That is how I write to make the most of the little time that is left after getting my daily chores done and parenting my toddler while dealing with pregnancy issues.
