Last month my baby girl, Fakiha turned to 6 months. It seems like ages ago when she was born. After 6 months she could start taking solid food officially. Before that I had everyone telling me to give her all kinds of things. But me and my husband were quite adamant not to start feeding solid until 6 months. So when the time came, I was really excited and a bit afraid too.
I put her onto bed amidst a lot of pillows. I sat in front of her with the bowl of cerelac. As the spoon full of cerelac came near the area her hands cover, she made for it and grabbed my hand firmly. She started shaking my hand and in my attempt to keep my surroundings clean, i got cerelac splattered on my hands, Fakiha’s face, hands and all over her clothes.
It seemed everything that was going in her mouth was coming out. After half an hour the feeding session ended. She was smiling vigorously with her face smeared up with the baby food. It was just the beginning of another adventure.
