I remember the time when i first put my preliminary cooking skills to test by making roti. I was in ninth class and amman has gone out of city to meet nani amman. The roti is supposed to be round but the thing i made was round+square+oval. It seemed more like a map of Pakistan or India or maybe some other country. I was so embarrassed when i put it in front of my family. But my father said our stomachs won’t get square by eating it so we’ll have it. I was so relieved and from then on i started to make it better. I found out as the good old saying goes, practice makes a man perfect, I got better and better at it with giving it more time and attention. So the trick to learn something is to take genuine interest in it, give it some of your precious time and do a bit practice.
