Whenever I see a dish of kofta anywhere I think of a short poem of Anwar Masud(a renowned Urdu and Punjabi poet). Though I can’t remember the exact words of the poem but i do remember the theme; koftay of course. The poem was about how koftay are made into balls from minced meat so painstakingly while we could also eat meat in the form of boti(chunks). He wonders and asks why take so pain when you have the easy way?

He is right in a way but those of you who have tasted it would agree that the taste is much more different and delicious than that of simple boti.
