Making Your Own Greeting Cards

Greeting cards are a beautiful, unique medium of communication. They are an easy and efficient way to show our emotions. There has been a time when printed greeting cards were very popular. With the advent of internet, E-cards replaced the traditional greeting cards and their popularity has hit the down road. But still there are people(like me) who likes to say things in old fashioned way, i.e sending paper greeting cards to friends and family to reach out and communicate.

Paper has been a great fascination for me for a very long time. Origami, scrapbooking and making my own cards at home was a great pass time for me. In this digital world things have become more magical than before. I love digital scrapbooking and though I am just a beginner at it, I am sharing with you the joys of this great hobby.

To make greeting cards you won’t need

• scissors
• glue
• paper stock
• embellishments

Instead you’ll need a

• photo editing program(Photoshop, Photoshop Elements etc.)
• Digital Scrapbook kit

Both of these things are easily available online without any cost.

You can download most of the photo editing programs with free trials and digital scrapbook kits can also be downloaded at no cost at all. Later you can print them out through online printing service or at home or even you can send them as an e-card. Have a look at some of the cards I have created:

You don’t have to be a pro to make these cards. You can also add your pictures, words and phrases to give it a more personal touch.
