Woot made its way to online Merriam Webster dictionary last year by becoming the word of the year.Though its not part of the regular dictionary now but it has strong chance to become a part of it for the way it has been selected. Thousands of Visitors to Merriam Webster’s website voted for the word. It was selected from a list of 20 words which were most frequently looked up at the website. Facebook was the runner up.
Basically the word is commonly used in the gaming world to exclaim joy after the win.
It is also an acronym for we owned the other team.
